A Summer COVID Wedding | Kelly + Drew | Chaska, Minnesota

At the start of last summer when we were all hoping to experience a dose of normalcy, Kelly and Drew celebrated their wedding day. We had talked to this sweet pair about their plans for their celebration, and we had heard about many of their details. So, needless to say, we were very much looking forward to witnessing everything they had so carefully planned (and never imagined would be interrupted by a pandemic) come alive as they placed their love and story on display.

Like many weddings hosted at The Outpost Center, both Kelly and Drew chose to get ready onsite. Kelly and Drew each enjoyed a slowly paced morning with their respective group of close friends and family members. Then it was time to get dressed. After Kelly’s dress was in place, she participated in one of our newly minted favorite first look traditions – a reveal with her bridesmaids. Then Kelly and Drew each stepped away to greet each other for the first time on their wedding day.

As guests arrived, they were lead to our outdoor patio – the perfect location for a summer wedding with beautiful weather in store. Once all of the guests arrived, Kelly and Drew saw each other again, but this time it was at the top of their wedding day aisle. Their officiant lead everyone through worship before asking Kelly and Drew to recite their vows and exchange their rings. Then another favorite wedding day moment occurred – Kelly and Drew were pronounced as husband and wife

Guests mingled together during cocktail hour, and many played games while Kelly and Drew explored The Outpost Center’s property with their photographer. The lighting post-ceremony was perfect for photos. Everything seemed to glow! Before guests entered into the reception space, they found their names and table numbers carefully written on vintage windows.

Inside their reception, a custom laser cut wood piece with Kelly and Drew’s new shared last name hung behind their sweetheart table. Round tables spaced throughout the barn were ready for guests, and a buffet dinner was carefully prepared for everyone to enjoy. We were honored to witness Kelly and Drew’s first dance as well as each of their dances with their parents. And, once their guests joined the couple on the dance floor, there was no stopping the fun – a wonderful sight to see!

Kelly and Drew, you two are so kind and loving to each other, to your family and friends, and to your team of skilled wedding professionals. It was a joy to host your wedding day!
