About The Outpost

The Outpost has a unique, God-given calling to Engage, Revive and Ignite the Body of Christ to Advance His Kingdom!

Located just outside of the Twin Cities in the Southwest Metro, The Outpost is built on 32 acres of rolling hills and woodlands providing a beautiful and serene destination close to the cities. The name “The Outpost”, has from the beginning, been a clear picture and description of this ministry’s calling. More than the facilities or any one initiative it is a place where spiritual servants and warriors can come to be healed, restored, trained and supplied for Kingdom service and advancement. A stream in the desert, a place where restoration and equipping of Men and Women of God alike, who are battling on all fronts.

As a Church and Ministry Center, The Outpost is open for public use of our facilities for weddings, intercessory prayer, celebrations, receptions, funerals, food distribution, gatherings, teaching, training, equipping and other ministry related activities. The Outpost Center is here to share the Love of Christ with unbelievers, new believers, and those who have walked with the Lord for days or decades. It exists to serve the needs of the public in creative and compelling ways that draw them into and enhance authentic and vibrant personal relationships with Jesus.

once upon a time…

The Outpost had a unique beginning. Long, long ago, in the early 1990’s Mark Halla, a founding Board Member, before even knowing Jesus personally, had a God given dream about some land. It wasn’t until many years later through a series orchestrated events that Mark found this “promised land” from his dream along Hwy 212, which was purchased in 2005. Initially built as a garden center known as The Mustard Seed, Mark had a nagging feeling that perhaps someday The Mustard Seed would be a church? Perhaps it was the many miracles that just kept happening around him…

In 2015, God started that process inviting Mark and ultimately the rest of The Outpost Board to build His Church, His Body and People. Not knowing what exactly that even meant at the time, Mark and others stepped out in faith and started the transition of the property to The Outpost! In many ways, The Mustard Seed gave birth to The Outpost Center having been planted, nurtured and watered for many years and then God made it grow as He continues to do!

What we believe

The Outpost board members believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God: He was crucified, resurrected, and sits at the right hand of the Father. The blood of Jesus Christ shed for us washes away our sins and allows us through its atoning power back into the presence of God. He is the way, the truth and the life and there is no other way appointed for man to be saved and reunited with The Father. The Word of God is eternal, and everything we need for Godly living is found in it. To see our full statement of faith click here.

Mission

We are a non-denominational Christian Ministry.  Our mission is to be a place where the Spirit of the Lord anoints all who enter to truthfully proclaim and share restoration and freedom in Christ!  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will feed, teach, train, equip and disciple as God leads.  (Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1-3)

Vision

We envision that the Outpost will be a place where all people experience a foretaste of heaven on earth!  That our love for God and others will be so palpable that everyone who experiences it will be drawn into their own personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ!  (Matthew 6:10, 5:16, 1Peter 2:12)
